In addition to his GM role, John previously served as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), where he was responsible for helping define and execute on the overall value proposition for Micro Focus. As part of this role, John also held responsibility for ensuring the enablement of the sales and technical communities within the organization to ensure customers could realize the maximum return on their investment. Prior to taking on the role of CMO for Micro Focus, John served as Chief Product Officer (CPO), a role he assumed following the September 2017 merger between Micro Focus and the software business unit of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). As CPO, John facilitated a modern Product to Market (P2M) process; identified and drove cross-product group solutions; and incubated a Technology Center of Excellence around innovation and opportunities for common R&D practices and tooling. Prior to the merger, John served as General Manager of the Product Group organization at Micro Focus.
With over 35 years of experience in the IT industry, John has worked for numerous companies, including NetIQ, Novell, BearingPoint, KPMG Consulting and EDS. John holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.
